You are bidding on a relatively rare 1953 Plymouth P23 Suburban. Title VIN 13350124 and 53,274 miles on the odometer. One of Bob’s favorite cars in his collection. This is a beautiful and authentic older restoration of a rather unique automobile. Painted a bluish-grey color with a nice interior, fold down rear seat, sliding back row windows and whitewall tires. Manual 3 spd transmission on the column. Great fun car for the family hobbyist or serious collector. Last driven in 2009.
This vehicle is part of the Bob Bakewell Collection Estate Auction. Bob was an avid collector, member of several antique car clubs, and served as a judge at several antique auto shows. Bakewell was referred to as Nebraska’s “Chrysler Man” in the November 3, 2011 edition of Old Cars Weekly magazine. Bob passed away at an advanced age, but most of the cars in his collection were drivable when parked and always stored indoors. His family is selling 20 cars from his collection so that others may enjoy his hobby and legacy.
